Solution: Reliable, easy-to-print cable tags
To identify the data centre’s power cables, Brand/Besamandla decided on Brady’s B-7643 halogen-free tags and B-7696 vinyl sleeve inserts, available in green, yellow, white and a custom pink. For identification speed and flexibility, Brand/Besamandla selected the BradyPrinter i3300 and the BMP71 Label Printer.
To facilitate approval for the identification materials, Brady supplied an overview board with physical label samples. Brand/Besmandla also quickly received technical data sheets with laboratory test results on each material.
B-7643 halogen-free tags are thermoplastic, polyether and polyurethane cable markers that meet the requirements of a halogen-free material per IEC 61249221. In case of a fire or high heat, the tags will not produce harmful halogen gas. B-7643 is available in white, red, yellow, orange and black.
In keeping with Brand/Besamandla’s cable identification colour code, Brady also supplied B-7696 inserts in green, yellow, white and a custom-made pink. Made out of vinyl, B-7696 inserts meet the flammability requirements of UL94V0. They can be used for a wide variety of identification applications.
Able to print both B-7643 halogen-free tags and B-7696 vinyl inserts, the BradyPrinter i3300 creates the labels Brand/Besamandla needs right at the construction site. Equipped with Brady’s LabelSense technology, users can switch label material colours and print on a new material within 20 seconds. Easy label data imports and fast bulk prints strengthen the fast printing experience Brand/ Besamandla needed.
To complete their fast label creation capabilities, Brand/ Besamandla also selected the BMP71 Label Printer. The predecessor of the M710 Mobile Printer offers portability and the ability to print die-cut and continuous labels up to 50.8mm wide, including custom and partially preprinted labels. The printer’s complete keyboard enables swift typing with both hands and its large full colour screen can provide a complete label preview.
