Why doesn't the adapter work with M210 or M211?

It's not designed to function with the M210 and M211 printers since they're not designed to receive label files with a data cable.

Will ZPL script labels print the same size on a Brady printer as on a Zebra printer?

Some minor differences in label size may be noticed due to the conversion of dpi of the original ZPL label. Many ZPL labels are printed on 203 dpi printers and many Brady printers are 300 or 600 dpi.

Does the Brady Script Emulator for ZPL require a driver to be installed on the Brady printer?

No, it will not require an installed driver on the Brady Printer.

Will the adapter work within automated systems in-line with Schleuniger systems?

No, it will not work in-line with Schleuniger multi-stage wire cut-and-strip machines; functionality may be added in the future.

What's the purpose of the web configuration page?

The web configuration page is important for the user to establish settings for the adapter such as defining the dpi of the printer, updating firmware for the adapter and storing user logos defined in zpl scripts; among many other product features and settings.

How do I access the web configuration page?

There are two ways to access the web conguration page: with a mobile device via the NFC antenna on the adapter; or by inserting a USB memory stick in the A Port of the adapter, which will download a .txt file with the IP address of the web configuration site accessible with a PC or laptop.

What functionalities can I control on the web configuration page?

The web configuration page has mutiple functionalities. It can be used to print a configuration label, define connection settings, update firmware, set label output offsets, store images, define script dpi and restart the adapter.

Why am I unable to connect to the web configuration page?

It's necessary that the adapter and the device accessing the web configuration page are both connected to the same network.

How do I know if my adapter is NOT connected to a network?

If the adapter is not connected to a local network, the url IP link will state 0.0.0.0

Why is it important for the adapter to be connected to the same network as the ZPL files?

ZPL scripts generally are not housed or stored in a software, but within an enterprise network. Thus, the adapter must be connected to the network with an ethernet cable.

Does the adapter have a battery?

The Brady Script Emulator for ZPL only has a small coin cell battery that stores the local time and date. It must be plugged into AC power in order to work.

Does the adapter come with an ethernet cable or data cable?

No. The adapter only comes with an AC USB C power cable. A data cable comes with the purchased Brady printer.

How can I learn what ZPL commands are supported with the adapter?

Brady has a published directory of supported ZPL commands for a variety of Brady printers. Refer to it frequently as it will be updated regularly.

Will the adapter be updated to recognize additional ZPL commands?

The adapter has upgradeable firmware that can be updated with a USB thumbdrive or connected to the web configuration page.

Does the adapter have file storage space?

The adapter has storage for logos or graphics files used within ZPL scripts.

Can I store a ZPL file on the adapter?

The adapter does not have storage for finished ZPL script files.

How do I print the configuration label?

The configuration label can be printed from the web configuration page under Diagnostics.

What's the purpose of the configuration label?

Printing the configuration label is a good way to verify connectivity between the printer, adapter and web configuration page. The printed label will display network settings and the device name.

How durable is the adapter?

The adapter is drop tested for 4' heights and will operate in a temperature ranges of 39°F to 104°F.

If I set the label length in the web configuration page will that override ^LL command in the ZPL Script?

The label length in the script will take precedent over the web configuration page. If a label length is not specified in the script then it will need to be defined in the web configuration page.

Can I test a ZPL script to see what the output will be?

We recommend a customer to provide a sample of the ZPL script, so we can test it with the adapter and Brady printer to see the output. Please reach out to a Brady territory manager to learn more.

Is the web configuration page available via a Mac?

The web configuration page is available on any browser on a Mac or PC.

What are potential factors that could result in a script misprint?

Alignment of the printer (center vs. left aligned vs. blackmark), font types, font sizes, graphics, margins or offsets. We recommend a customer to provide a sample of the ZPL script so we can test it with the adapter and Brady printer to see the output.

How many printers can simultaneously be connected to the adapter?

The ZPL adapter needs to be linked to a printer using the data cable that comes with the Brady printer. This means there's a 1-on-1 connection between a printer and an adapter.
